Implementasi Manajemen Syariah melalui Pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) untuk Meningkatkan Kemandirian dan Tata Kelola Balai Pengajian

Abstrak

This community service program is motivated by the limited independence and governance quality of the Balai Pengajian in Punteut Village, Muara Dua District, Lhokseumawe City. These challenges are mainly caused by weak managerial systems, low congregant participation in institutional management, and the lack of systematic implementation of Sharia management principles. In fact, the Balai Pengajian plays a strategic role as a center for religious education, moral development, and social cohesion within the village community. Therefore, this program aims to implement Sharia management through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to enhance institutional independence and governance at the Balai Pengajian in Punteut Village. The community service method adopts a PAR approach that emphasizes the active involvement of administrators, religious teachers, and congregants throughout all stages of the program, including problem identification, action planning, mentoring implementation, and joint evaluation and reflection. The implementation of Sharia management focuses on assisting the institution in developing structured activity planning, Sharia-compliant financial management, fair task distribution, and the internalization of Islamic values such as trust (amanah), consultation (shura), transparency, and accountability. The program results indicate an improvement in the understanding and application of Sharia management principles among Balai Pengajian administrators. Congregational participation in decision-making processes increased, and institutional governance became more organized and oriented toward public benefit (maslahah). Furthermore, the Balai Pengajian demonstrated growing independence in managing its religious and social programs sustainably. In conclusion, the PAR approach proves effective in facilitating the implementation of Sharia management and in improving the independence and governance of the Balai Pengajian in Punteut Village through a participatory and context-based process.
